読書の時間 - more books to read

最近ほとんど電車に乗らなくなったせいか、本を読む事がめっきり少なくなった。一度読み出すと、ずっと読み続ける癖が出来るけど、いったん離れてると、なかなか読み癖が戻ってこない。
。。。という話しを友達としていたのだけど、結局面白い本を読んでないからでは？？？という指摘を受けた。
確かに。
今、読んではいるけどちっとも前に進まない本。安部公房の「箱男」。
箱をかぶり、その中で生活する事で世間一般の生活を捨てるが、世の中と関わりを切れずにいる世捨て人の話（私の解釈だけど）。でもそれさえも作り話。。。的な（眉間にしわ）。
基本的にこういう本は好きだ。けど、どうにも進まない。多分今の私には全く受け入れられないのだろう。二十歳前後の頃だったら、きっと夢中で読んだと思う。これからもそんな時が来るかも知れない。でも今は読んでも面白くない。眉間にしわが増える。
。。。なのであきらめて他にいくつか本を買った。
奥田英朗の「町長選挙」「邪魔」と山崎豊子の「二つの祖国」。
冒険ナシ、ハズレなしの作家。　まずは軽めの町長選挙からまた読書生活に戻る。

I used be addicted to books.  I used to read especially when I am on the train for commuting. 
Since I don't use train much anymore, I noticed that I haven't read books much lately. 
A friend of mine pointed out, however, that I may not be reading interesting books.  If I am reading something interesting, I should be reading more..  She said. 
Yes, I think she is right.
I've been reading this book "Hako Otoko - The Box Man" by Kobo Abe. (translation available in English)
This is about a homeless (wanna be) man living in a cardboard box trying to be away from normal life as a human, but still trying to find his identity.. etc. etc... (my own interpretation) .  It's been about a month since I started, but I still cannot finish it...  It is taking too long.    I can see that the story is interesting and I used to like this type of story in early 20's.   I guess I am not in the mood to read this type of book now.  I cannot get myself into the world of this book, but I even get frustrated.. ha ha.
So I decided to buy more books to read instead.  The books by the authors I like.  No challenge but it's OK.   I cannot wait to finish them :)
