今日は金環日食の日でした。
連日ニュースやそこかしこで話題になっていたので、今朝はやっぱり気になってちょっと早起きしてベランダから外を見てみました。
といってもちゃんと観測用のグラスを持っていた訳では無いので、一瞬だけチラ見。
後はテレビでじっくり。
ちゃんと見れなかったのは残念だったけど、日食が進むにつれ、あたりが暗くなって来て気温が少し下がったりして、改めて、太陽ってすごいのだなあと思った。
あと一瞬だけ、本当に一瞬だけちらっと見た後、目が少しちかちかして、その「ちかちか」が日食の形とおんなじだったのにはびっくり。
ちゃんと日食が見れなかったのは残念だったけど、その他にも色んな発見のある現象。堪能しました。
Today was the day for total Eclipse.
Since people were talking about this here and there for a past few weeks, I walked up a bit early to see the eclipse from my window.
I was not really prepared for this, so of course I did not have a right glasses to see the sun, I just gave a glance at the sun very quickly, then enjoy the show through TV.
It was a pity that I was unprepared, it was interesting to see the outside getting a bit dark (felt like in the late afternoon) and felt the temperature going down. It made me respect the power of the sun, really.
Also, after glancing the sun quickly, in my eyes, I saw reflection of the sun as I blink my eyes. And the shape of the reflection was the shape of eclipse. It was very interesting discover for me.
Though I could see the eclipse with my eyes, I enjoyed a lot of interesting phenomenon of the nature caused by Eclipse.

必要なのは雨と太陽４ Moving garden
実家で長い間借りていた畑を、急遽地主さんにお返ししなくてはいけなくなった。
３週間振りに見た畑には昨年末に種まきをして、大分すくすく育ったスナップエンドウとジャガイモが。。。
しかもジャガイモは３週間前に種芋を植えたばかり。ちゃんと育ってるか心配だったけど、植えた全ての種芋から元気な葉っぱが出ていた。さすが地植え、すごい。
こんなに元気に育ってる子達を見捨てるなんて出来ない。
５月中には返して欲しいというお願いに、どうしようか迷ったあげく、実家の庭や花壇、スキマのある所全てを耕して、畑にある苗を移設する事にした。
庭や花壇、ほっとかれたプランターに生い茂る雑草を取り除き、固くなってしまった土を耕し、出来るだけたくさんの苗を移設出来るスペースを確保した。
ジャガイモは５株を残し、２７株を移設。スナップエンドウは残念だけど元気そうな９株のみを移設。
さらに母の強い希望で、新たにナスとピーマンを2株ずつ追加。
ちゃんと育つかなあ。特に心配なのは、プランターに移したスナップエンドウとジャガイモ３株。
次に実家に行くのは1ヶ月後。それまでちゃんと育っていますように。
Only after a few days I planted the potatoes a few weeks ago, my mom told me that she was told to return her garden to the land owner due to many reasons.
A few days ago, I went to mom's to hang out with her and also to take care of the garden.
I saw healthy grown up peas and potatoes at the garden.
Seeing them growing beautifully, I decided to help them by moving to our own garden though it is not so big.
Our own planters and garden were covered with weeds...
So I started to clean and dig up the hardened soil to make them soft as much space I can find.
I could transfer most of the potatoes and some peas.
I also added a few eggplants and green peppers upon mom's request.
As usual, I really hope for their healthy grow. I hope this change was a good one for them and us...
Next time I visit is a month later, so hope to see them grown up.

京都 Off to Kyoto
先週末、京都に行って来ました。
1年半振りの京都、楽しみました。桜の季節は過ぎたけど、まだまだ八重桜や、若い緑の木がそこかしこにたくさん。
行きも帰りも高速バスで行ったので、土曜日の早朝について、日曜の真夜中に出発。まるまる2日。のんびりと過ごしました。
いつも特に観光する感じでは無いのだけど、今回1日目は一人だったので、京都通の友達や泊まったゲストハウスのスタッフの方にお勧めの場所を聞いたりして、結構色々回りました。
京都駅からほど近い東寺では月一回の市場が開かれていて、行ってみるとものすごいたくさんの人、人、人。屋台、雑貨屋、骨董市、活気があって、しかも広い！
次に行ったのは三十三間堂。
あれだけの千手観音。本当に圧巻で、素晴らしかった。他の神様の像も素晴らしかったし。建物もすごく素敵だし、なんで今まで行かなかったのかと思うくらい。
その後はバスを乗り継いで一乗寺方面へ。友達のオススメする本屋さん、恵文社に行く途中、近くの詩仙堂へ。ゲストハウスの方に進められたのだけど、静かで素敵な所。門をくぐると両サイドが竹やぶのエントランス道があって、雰囲気が何とも言えずきれい。中に入ると、畳に座って、庭をぼーっと見てるだけなんだけど、すごく落ち着く。
何時間でも居れそうな気がする場所だった。
恵文社という本屋さんは、人気がある様で、あまり人の居ないエリアなのに、ソコのお店だけたくさん人が居ました。本だけじゃなくて雑貨なんかも置いてあって、建物の古さも何とも言えず、素敵なたたずまい。
夜はゲストハウス近くの銭湯で疲れきった身体を休めて就寝。
2日目は京都に住んでる友達と合流。にぎやかな四条のあたりをうろつきながら、近くの島津製作所の資料館へ。
この資料館。本当におすすめです。
明治時代に創業され、今なお、ありとあらゆる物を作り続ける大企業。最初はニーズが無いにも関わらず、未来を信じて理科の実験道具を作り続け、その技術を活かして、日本初のレントゲン測定器ダイアナ号を作り、水素ガスで気球を飛ばし、理科の人体模型を作り、その後日本初のマネキンを作り。。。と持ってる技術がどんどん時代に合わせて広がっていく。なんだか日本のもの作りの原点を見た気がしました。
展示品も、蚕の雄雌判別機、電気卵、分離スベキ集電器、とにかく何に使うんだか分かんないものがたくさん。デザインもきれいだし、見ててワクワクする物であふれてました。
当時はきっと変人扱いされてたと思うけど、信じて作り続けた結果が今につながるんだな。
夢と技術がつまった資料館。友達とワイワイ騒ぎながら、すごく堪能。
とても楽しい場所でした。
あっという間の2日間。最後はバスで東京へ。満足な週末でした。
I visited Kyoto last weekend for the first time in a year and half.
In these 2 days, I visited some new places where I've never been.
Toji, Sanjusangendo, Shisendo, All these temples were interesting in different ways.
The best place I been this time was Shimadzu Foundation Memorial Hall. It is one of the oldest manufacturing company in Kyoto and they manufacture so many kinds of things now.
There are many interesting devices which were invented 100s years ago...
All the devices were beautiful and interesting and I was so excited to see them all....
2 days are not so long but still enough to see many things :D wanna go back again.

必要なのは雨と太陽３ its time for the field work
先週末、実家の畑にジャガイモをまきました。
耕した畑に、種芋を埋めるので。。。埋めました。が正確なのかな。
この種芋まき作業。本来は３月中に行なうのが理想の様ですが、３月は実家に戻ったりする時間がなかったので、4月になってしまいました。でも今年は寒い日々が続いたので、（母によれば）とりあえず大丈夫。
ジャガイモを育てるのは初挑戦ですが、なんとか母に聞きながらやってみました。
まずは酸性化した土をアルカリ性に変えるために石灰を混ぜて畑を耕します。
趣味程度なのでさほど大きくないけど、鍬一本で耕すには割と重労働。未だにちょっと腰が痛い。
そしてあらかじめ2〜３当分した種芋の切り口に石灰をまぶし、切り口を下にして土に埋めていきます。
その上に土をかけて、ひと通り作業終了。
それほど難しい事ではないのだけど、芽が出なければ話にならない。
去年から色んな野菜を育てて来たけれど、種をまいたり、苗を植えたりするたびに、「ちゃんと育ちますように」と思う。
芽がでるまで２、３週間かかるという。
次はGWに行く予定なので、その頃には芽が出ていて欲しい。
Its time to make potato.
I worked in the field to prepare potatoes. I tried it for the first time, so I followed my mom's instruction.
Usually, this preparation should be ready in March, but I could not manage to visit garden to do so until now. Since we had very cold March, it is still not too late (I hope...)
The procedures are simple.
First, you put lime to the soil to cultivate the filed mixing with lime in order to make the soil alkalinized.
Then put the limed potatoes to the cultivated channels and put soil over the potatoes.
Hopefully I can expect see the sprouts come out in a few weeks.
I've been trying to make different kind of vegetables since last year, and every time I prepare making them, I really hope for their healthy grow...
I always cross my fingers for it.

開花宣言 Spring is here
今日都内でようやく開花宣言が出たらしい。
それでも例年より５日遅い位らしい。
ずいぶん寒い日が続いたので、例年よりももっともっと遅いと思ってたけど、開花したみたいです。まあ、開花なので。。見頃はまだ先ですね。
ともかく、春の知らせと、気温が暖かくなったのはとても嬉しい。
かなり遅いけど、実家の梅の木も花が咲き始めました。多分見頃はこれから。
来週は実家に行くので、まだ梅の木が楽しめるかな。
今日はこれから井の頭公園にあるレストランで花見会。。。桜はまだ見頃じゃないけど、気温が暖かいのが嬉しい。
Spring is here.
The weather forecast informed that the cherry blossoms has just started to bloom today in Tokyo. This is the sign of the Spring.
We have had a long cold winter this year, I was so ready for the warm spring :D
I expect that cherry blossom will be fully bloomed next week.
The pictures are my moms plum tree. My brother has sent me the pictures. The plum tree have just started to bloom as well. This is very very late compare to the past years since we usually have plum blooming in early March.
I plan to go visit my mom next week, so I hope I can still enjoy the plum trees.

アスリート Fighter
ずっと趣味で続けているキックボクシングがこの4月でとうとう丸６年目を迎える。
６年って結構長い。
最初の頃はジムに行くのはせいぜい週1、2回程度だったけど、このところは週３回。多いときでは4回くらい行ってる。
試合に出る訳でもない、人を殴るのが好きな訳でもない。人からは「何を目指してるの？」と言われたりするけど、まあ、「楽しいからやってる」以外の何者でもなくて。オトナになってから始めた部活みたいで、単純に楽しい。汗をかいたり、人の動きに合わせて自分の出方を考えたり。
コーチや仲間が頑張って練習して、試合に出たりするのを力一杯応援したり。それでまたパワーもらったり。真剣に遊ぶから楽しい。と、思ってる。
何の気負いも無く練習してるから、ずっと続いているんだろうな。
相変わらず上達しないし、基本が出来てなくて先生にがっかりされたりするけど、先日先生から、「アスリートっぽくなってきたね」と言われた。
６年かかった。
これから後何年動き続けられるか分からないけど、楽しめる限りは続けたいと、改めて思えた褒め言葉だった。
It has been 6 years since I started to take the kickboxing lessons. Time flies so quickly...
I used to go only one or two days a week when I first started, but now I try to go the gym at least 3 days a week (sometime 4 days).
Its not that I am going to fight in the tournament, or I like beating people up. Some time I get friends saying "why are you trying so hard?", but actually I don't know.. Its just fun. That is the only reason I keep doing this.
Practice really hard and get sweaty really bad. See how the counterpart moves to build my own strategy during the game.... It is just fun...
Sometime my friends go on the tournament, so we all go to the games and cheer them up. I like them trying so hard to get what they want, so I get power from them as well. I really like that time with them.
I really believe that having fun is not easy. You have to work hard to have fun.
A few days ago, my instructor told me that I look like a fighter now..
Though I dont intend to become a fighter, it took me 6 years to get the word from him.
That cheered me up a lot and make me feel that I want to continue this as much as I can.

Film a la Table
先日、食事をしながら食にまつわる映画を観るという、フィルム ア ラ タブル というイベントに参加しました。
イベント案内役の方が選んだ７つの食にまつわる映画の一部を観た後、イベント参加者の投票により観る映画を決めるという趣向。
映画はよく集めたな〜と思うくらい、年代も国も様々な映画をセレクトしてました。
どれも面白そうだなと思ったけど、参加者総勢20人くらいで一番投票数の多かった「タッチ オブ スパイス」というギリシャ映画に決まり、みんなで鑑賞。
（私は別の映画に手を挙げたけど、私ともう一人の2名だけでした。。）
楽しく観る事が出来ました。
そして映画鑑賞と並んでイベントのメインは食事。
今回の食事は満腹芸術法人という名で活動する人たちが担当。
コンセプトは「円」。という事で、食べ物の基本は円の形。
色んな縁で、人々が丸く円につながって行くという思いを込めたそうです。
このイベントを行なったのは、新日本橋にある「Creative Hub 131」という雑居ビル３階にある「社員食堂」という所。Creative Hubは雑居ビルで、建築家やアーティスト、プロダクトデザイン、ベンチャー企業などの人たちの間借りオフィスビルです。ビルの中心にある「社員食堂」では連日のように食事会が開かれ、ビルの関係者だけじゃなく、一般にも開かれていて、常時１０人くらいの人たちが来ています。
私もたまーに行くのだけど、行くたびに知らない顔に出会う、面白い場所です。
この社員食堂を中心に、「フードコミュニケーション」というのを行なっていて、大体の食事を担当しているのが、満腹芸術法人の方達。いつも楽しいコンセプトで食を通したコミュニケーションの場を提供してくれます。
投票による映画鑑賞という趣向。食事の「円」というコンセプト。
自分の趣味と人の趣味が違うんだという事も改めて実感したし。楽しめるイベントでした。
I participated an interesting event called, Film a la Table.
This is an event to watch food-related movie eating dinner together.
We watched previews of 7 movies selected by an event coordinator, and each of us (probably 20 of us) was to select one movie to watch. The movie which won the most votes was to be shown.
7 movies looked all interesting as they came from different countries and years.
I wanted watch something else, but many people voted for the Greece movie, "Touch of Spices" this time. So, we watched this movie together and it was interesting movie at the end.
Food is another main part of this event.
Food was prepared in shape of "circle" representing "Yen" ("bond" in Japanese and pronunciation is the same as "circle" in Japanese.) They wanted to represent the bond and border-less communication among people. All the food looked beautiful and good.
The event was taken place at the cafeteria of "Creative Hub 131".
Creative Hub 131 is composed of offices of architect, designers, farmers, and such.
Cafeteria is open not only for the people work in the building but also to everyone.
They have dinner party almost everyday and it is a good place for meeting and interacting with new people. The main people at the building is trying to experiment "food-communication", which "Eating together makes people's bonds" kind of thing...
So, this event was one of the activities of them as well.
Watching movie, eating food, and meeting new people.. The event was lots of fun.
イベント案内役の方が選んだ７つの食にまつわる映画の一部を観た後、イベント参加者の投票により観る映画を決めるという趣向。
映画はよく集めたな〜と思うくらい、年代も国も様々な映画をセレクトしてました。
どれも面白そうだなと思ったけど、参加者総勢20人くらいで一番投票数の多かった「タッチ オブ スパイス」というギリシャ映画に決まり、みんなで鑑賞。
（私は別の映画に手を挙げたけど、私ともう一人の2名だけでした。。）
楽しく観る事が出来ました。
そして映画鑑賞と並んでイベントのメインは食事。
今回の食事は満腹芸術法人という名で活動する人たちが担当。
コンセプトは「円」。という事で、食べ物の基本は円の形。
色んな縁で、人々が丸く円につながって行くという思いを込めたそうです。
このイベントを行なったのは、新日本橋にある「Creative Hub 131」という雑居ビル３階にある「社員食堂」という所。Creative Hubは雑居ビルで、建築家やアーティスト、プロダクトデザイン、ベンチャー企業などの人たちの間借りオフィスビルです。ビルの中心にある「社員食堂」では連日のように食事会が開かれ、ビルの関係者だけじゃなく、一般にも開かれていて、常時１０人くらいの人たちが来ています。
私もたまーに行くのだけど、行くたびに知らない顔に出会う、面白い場所です。
この社員食堂を中心に、「フードコミュニケーション」というのを行なっていて、大体の食事を担当しているのが、満腹芸術法人の方達。いつも楽しいコンセプトで食を通したコミュニケーションの場を提供してくれます。
投票による映画鑑賞という趣向。食事の「円」というコンセプト。
自分の趣味と人の趣味が違うんだという事も改めて実感したし。楽しめるイベントでした。
I participated an interesting event called, Film a la Table.
This is an event to watch food-related movie eating dinner together.
We watched previews of 7 movies selected by an event coordinator, and each of us (probably 20 of us) was to select one movie to watch. The movie which won the most votes was to be shown.
7 movies looked all interesting as they came from different countries and years.
I wanted watch something else, but many people voted for the Greece movie, "Touch of Spices" this time. So, we watched this movie together and it was interesting movie at the end.
Food is another main part of this event.
Food was prepared in shape of "circle" representing "Yen" ("bond" in Japanese and pronunciation is the same as "circle" in Japanese.) They wanted to represent the bond and border-less communication among people. All the food looked beautiful and good.
The event was taken place at the cafeteria of "Creative Hub 131".
Creative Hub 131 is composed of offices of architect, designers, farmers, and such.
Cafeteria is open not only for the people work in the building but also to everyone.
