回りも高いビルがあるけど、さすがに37階ともなると、ほとんどのビルを見下ろしてる感じ。
そこでの毎日の楽しみは、遠くに見える富士山を見る事。
特に冬の今、空気が澄んでいるので、本当にきれいに見える。
富士山の前には山々が連なっているのだけど、そのすぐ後ろに、真っ白な雪に覆われた富士山が人一倍大きくそびえてる。
本当に神々しい。
ついつい手を合わせてしまう。
ふと、昔昔に、高い建物の無い時代の事を思う。高い山のほとんどない関東平野に住んでいる人たちには、遠くにそびえる富士山は本当に神様のような存在だったのではないかなあ。
その情景を思い浮かべると、そんな富士山を見てみたいなと思う。なんにも無い所に富士山だけが大きく大きくそびえてる。どんな感じなんだろう。
富士山を見るとついつい拝んじゃうのって私だけじゃなくて結構居ると思う。
そんな時、「ああ、日本人だなあ」と思う。特に誰に言われた訳でもなく、なんと無く拝んじゃう。日本人に流れる神道の精神が土台にあるのかなあ。。。
「畏敬の念を抱く」という表現があるけど、私にとっての富士山はまさにそんな感じ。
明日は晴れて富士山が見れるといいな。
The office I work at is located in the middle of downtown Tokyo but on the 37the floor. There are tall buildings around our building, but most of them are shorter than us.
One of my favorite things there is that I can see Mt. Fuji from the floor.
Since it is winter, the air is clear enough to see the beautiful mountain far faraway.
There are mountain range laying in front of Mt. Fuji, and snow-covered Mt. Fuji is just there standing much higher than those mountains.
So beautiful.
So divine.
Sometimes, I think about long time ago when no tall buildings are around and the only tall thing you see is Mt. Fuji from the Kanto Plain (Tokyo region). I would imagine that the Mt. Fuji was almost like a God for those people... I wish I lived in the era to see the mountain and have the feeling..
I think there are many people who feel the same way as I do toward Mt. Fuji, that you feel like pray for it. And when I feel that way, I always think that I AM really a Japanese. No one told me to pray for the mountain, but I do. I think it is from the basics of Shinto, which you do not learn but you gain as you grew up in Japan.
I feel happy that I work where I see Mt. Fuji everyday. Mt Fuji is definitely a lucky charm for me.
