東京の風景 Scenery in Tokyo

今日は金属の材料を買いに浅草や両国に近い、下町にある大銅という非金属を扱う金属屋さんに行って来ました。
いつもだいたい他の人が買うついでに買って来てもらったりする事が多いので、行くのは今日が初めて。
下町は蔵前まで地下鉄で行き、そこから５分。
隅田川にかかる厩橋という橋をわたりました。
ちょうど夕焼け時で隅田川には遊覧船が。とてもきれいな光景に思わず写真をとってしまった。
川からみる風景は、東京を外から見ているみたいで、すごく新鮮。

金属屋さんでは注文していた物以外に、いくつか端材を購入。
お店はとっくに閉まる時間なのに、開けて待っててくれました。
さらに帰りはお店のおじちゃんが浅草駅まで送ってくれて、遠回りして夜景にそびえるスカイツリーを見せてくれました。
これも東京の新しい風景。新しいけど、なんだかとっても馴染んでる気がしたのは。。。テレビでよく見るせいかな。

今日は新鮮な東京の風景二つ。いつも行かない町に行くと楽しいなあと再確認。

On the way to pick up some metal materials at the shop in east side of Tokyo, I came across one of the biggest rivers in/around Tokyo, Sumida-river.  
I love looking Tokyo from river side as i feel like I am looking the backside of Tokyo from outside.     I get this feeling only when I come to Sumida-river.
When I passing the bridge, it was almost the sunset time.  I could not help myself taking a pic of this beautiful scenery with a boat floating on the water.    
This is one of my favorites scenery in Tokyo.

After picking up the materials at the metal shop, the owner guy gave me a ride to the station near by.  On the way to the station, he made a loop a bit to show me the Tokyo's new landmark, Sky Tree.   It was beautifully lit up in the dark sky.   Though it is a new landmark, I had this nostalgic feeling seeing it..

Today, I got to see some sceneries which I looked very new.
Its been a long time living in Tokyo, but I still see and find new discoveries everywhere in Tokyo.

sweet project

先日結婚式を終えたばかりの、素敵カップル、あぐりちゃんとやすおくん。
結婚式はできるだけ手作りで。という事で、お互いの結婚指輪を作ることに。
そして、私はその素敵なアイデアのお手伝いをさせていただきました。

作り方を教えてほしい。と言われたのは式のほぼ1か月前。　
指輪づくりなど、彫金はほぼ初めての彼女と、独学で経験者の彼。二人でお互いの技術を補いながら、通常なら時間のかかる作業を、驚異の集中力で完成させることができました。

出来上がるまではサイズちゃんと合うかな。とか、ドキドキしたけど、最後の磨き作業をして、ピカピカの完成品が汚れた布の中から出てきたときは、なんだかとっても感動しました。
世界に1つしかない、二人にとっては本当に特別な指輪。　サイズもぴったり。

教え方もままならない私だったと思うけど、なんとも素敵な事のお手伝いができて、本当に光栄でした。
末永くお幸せに！

シンプルでとても素敵なringができました。おぶさってるように見える。。simple and beautiful rings.. 

 I happened to help this sweet couple, who just had a wedding, making their wedding rings to each other. 
What a sweet idea and I felt honored to give them advice for the project.  Though the time was very limited and it was almost the first time for them to make jewelry, they did great job finishing in such a short time. 
It was touchy when I saw the polished rings came out from the dirty cloth when they completed. 
The rings are truly special and, again, it was such a honor helping them. 
Wishing their happy marriage :D 

cufflinks カフスボタン作りました。

カフスボタンを二つ。つくりました。
たまたまプレゼント用にカフスボタンを作ってくださいというオーダーをいただいたその日、また別の方からカフスボタンを作れるかの問い合わせ。コチラもギフト用とのこと。
何だろう。カフスボタンが流行っているのかしら？

そんな訳で。カフスボタン。

一つはプレゼントされる方の好きな映画をアイデアに。一つは既にあるデザインを元に作りました。

とある会社のロゴです。ステキなデザイン。company logo.  beautiful design.  enjoyed curving :) 

カフスボタンのイメージに合わせて木の箱も作りました。made a wooden box goes well with the design of the cufflinks.  

さて何の映画がモチーフでしょう？？左右でデザインの違うものをつくりました。 cufflinks comes in different designs.   what movie you think this idea came from?

先日双方ともお渡しも完了。
作った物を渡す時はいつも緊張します。
ありがたい事に、お二人ともとても気に入っていただけました。プレゼントされた方達もとっても喜んでいたそうで、本当に嬉しい。
カフスボタン作りは初めてだったけど、普段自分で作ると得意な事だけやってしまいがちなので、オーダーをいただけると新しい事にチャレンジ出来て嬉しい。
とても楽しいお仕事をいただきました。

Made 2 cufflinks ordered as gift.
On the day I was asked to make a cufflinks, I was asked another person to make cufflinks, too.   I never made one, so I wondered what this coincidence is.

Both cufflinks were special presents, one was a company logo so the design was provided, and the other one I was to come up with idea from the movie that the person who receives like.
Though it was a bit challenging, but I enjoy doing something new as I always get to learn new things.   Whenever I make something, I tend to do what I can do or I know I can do, so getting order is very fun and great experience.

When I show my works, I always get nervous if they would like them or not...  Thankfully, they loved my works so I was really happy.

I really enjoyed making both.

夏 summer heat!

暑い。
いつの間にかすっかり本格的な夏になってた。しかも明日で７月が終わる。
ぼんやりしてたらお正月迎えてしまいそう。。
それにしても暑い。湿度も半端無いし。
以前シンガポールやマレーシアからの留学生が、東京の夏の方が暑いと言ってたけど、本当にそうだと思う。。。

ここの所、体質が変ったのか、何か異常なのか、かく汗の量が半端じゃない。
元々汗っかきではあったけれど、いつもの夏以上にすごい気がする。
ジムに行って運動すると、しばらく汗が止まらない。
今日はジムから帰宅して体重をはかったら、朝よりも1キロ近く減っていた。
その間、しっかりおやつもお昼ご飯も食べているし、ジムでも１L近くのドリンクを飲んだのに。
なので、その分お水を飲まないと、身体の水分がどんどん無くなるので、最近は一日２L近くは水を飲んでる気がする。
そして飲んでる側からどんどん汗が噴き出す。
代謝が良いのは良い事だけど、それにしても、大丈夫かなあ、と、ちょっと心配。

 まあ、水を飲もうが運動しようが、とにかく暑い。汗もでるよね。

Heat heat heat.
It has been really hot for a last few weeks.  I guess we haven't had rain for a long time now.
Anyway, this is how hot (with super high humidity) the summer in Japan.
I remember some exchange students from Malaysia and Indonesia told me that the summer in Japan is even hotter than their countries, and I can believe that.

Recently, I have noticed that I sweat more than I used to.
I used to sweat a lot, but even more now.  I dont know what happened to my body, though.  Maybe my consistence has changed or something is wrong with my body...
If I spend one hour or so at the gym doing exercise, I would lose about at least one kilo or more.
I know its good thing that I sweat so that my body stays clean (and fresh?), but I am bit concerned..  

Anyway, it is very very hot here....

必要なのは雨と太陽５ Power of the sun

必要なのは雨と太陽。
そう信じて昨年から母に代わって始めた野菜作り。
数ヶ月前に突如返還を求められた畑に植えたばかりのジャガイモやスナップエンドウを、家の庭を耕して移設しましたが、そのジャガイモを先日収穫しました。
移設したジャガイモは約30株。
たまに実家に帰って成長具合を見ると、ジャングル化してくる庭の木々のスキマから、びっくりするくらい身体を縦にのばして、一生懸命太陽の光を浴びようとしているジャガイモが。改めて、太陽の光が大事なんだと思い、実家に戻るたび、次々とのびてくる回りの草木を切りまくった。
収穫の日、耕して一番たくさんの株を植えた場所には何もなかった。そこは移設時には日が当たっていたけど、だんだんと木が多い茂って来て、日がほとんどささなくなっていた場所で、ずっと心配していた場所。
枯れた葉っぱさえ残ってなくて、何がおこったのか分からなかったけど、掘り返してみると、直径2センチくらいの小さなジャガイモが全部で６個くらい出て来た。　
多分、太陽を浴びる事の出来なかったジャガイモは成長出来ず、そのまま葉っぱも枯れ、さらには枯れた葉っぱも連日の雨で地面に吸収されてしまったのだと。そう思う。


花壇やプランターに植えたジャガイモからは中くらいの大きさの収穫出来、全部でバケツ1杯分くらいになった。
去年は畑で育てた一つ一つ大きいジャガイモが収穫出来たので、それに比べると大分小振りだったけど、それでもちゃんと育ってくれたのは嬉しい。

ジャガイモは手間がほとんどかからないのだけど、唯一大事な太陽の光を十分あげる事が出来なくて残念。身体を精一杯のばしてた姿が本当に切ない。
来年はまたもっと上手な方法を考えてあげよう。

収穫したジャガイモ。花壇やプランターの割に上出来。 Picked potatoes.  Not so much this year, but good enough considering their environment. 

 Last weekend, I finally dug up potatoes from the garden.
They are the ones I transfered from the field to mom's garden a few month ago.
Since we had a limited space in our garden, I was worried them a lot if they can grow without problem.
As I see them grow time to time whenever I go visit once a while, I saw they grow strangely elongating themselves vertically in order to reach the sun shine as much as they can.   This made me worried, too, as I've never seen potato plants grow in such a way.    Sunlight is the one they need the most..


On the day to dig up the potatoes,  I saw nothing in the area where no sun light was coming through..  
I could dig up good enough potatoes from the planters and flower beds.  


All we could get this year was just a bucket full ( a little less maybe) of potatoes.  
Though we could not get as much as I expected, I was happy to save some potatoes and now we can enjoy some of them.  


Now I know how important the sun light is, so I can try something better next year.   

格闘技観戦月間

早くも７月が1週間過ぎてしまった。本当にあっという間に時間が過ぎる。ぼんやりしてるとお正月になってしまいそう。やるべき事をやらねば。

明日の８日を皮切りに、今月は３つ、格闘技の試合観戦に行く。
ここの所、ほぼ毎月の様に何かしら格闘技の試合を見に行っています。
それほど安い訳でもないので、なるべく月1回くらいを限度にしようと思っているのだけど、今月は３つ。ちょっと多いけど、どれも外せないので、行く事に決めました。
明日は、ボクシングの瀬藤幹人選手の応援。横浜体育館でやる世界タイトルマッチと同じ興行で、テレビ中継もされるらしいくらい、大きな大会。　
去年の暫定王者から、また王者を狙う立場になった瀬藤選手の大事な試合。
来週は、同じジムの一人のキックボクシングプロデビュー戦。予定があったので迷ったけど、デビュー戦は一生に一度だけなので、やはり応援でパワーを与えたい。
その次は、やはり同じジムの一人で、既にデビューしている選手のプロデビュー３戦目。４月にデビューして既に３戦目なんて、本当に展開が早い。先月の２戦目は予定が合わなくていけなかったので今回は応援したい。その他、この大会は他にも楽しみな試合がそろっているので、楽しみ。

そんな感じで今月は３つの大会を見に。そして来月の12日は、梶原龍児選手の試合。
来月はとりあえずこの1大会だけを観戦予定。
格闘技大会の聖地、後楽園ホール。年に少なくとも６回は足を運んでいる気がする。
出来ればたくさん見に行きたいけど、お財布と相談しながら、楽しんで観戦生活続けます。

よく食べる女子 Yes, we are the eaters.

今日は久しぶりにジムの月曜日仲間でレッスン後に行きつけの中華料理屋に行って来ました。
この中華料理屋、飲みにいくときは大体行く所なのですが．．．私たち女子５人、とにかく良く食べる。
今日は実はちょっと抑えめだったかなと思うけど、それでも女子５人で１２〜３皿は食べた。前回は同じく５人で行って、少なくとも１５皿は食べたと思う。しかもその時は、お互い色々話したり聞いたりしたい事があったはずなのに、記憶に残る話をいっさいしていないことに、ある程度おなかが満たされてから気がついた。
飲み放題なのに、飲物が進まないくらい食べる事に夢中。　
そんな私たち、今日は意外にちゃんとお話しながら食べる事が出来た。
ジムで毎週顔を会わせるけど、飲みにいったりしない限り、なかなかお互いの近況を知る事が無いので．．やっぱり楽しい。毎度毎度、「食べ過ぎたー」の台詞で終わるけど、みんな「まあ、また動くしね」という感じでやっぱり後悔無く食べる。
正直私は普通の女子より食べる方だろう。
でも食べる事と動く事。とにかく楽しい事にちょっとだけどん欲なだけだ。
そんな感じで、私たちは食べる幸せと食べることの出来る環境を持つ幸せをさらに噛み締める。

Went out with the girls from the gym I belong to for the first time in the long while.
We see each other every week, but we dont really talk about personal things unless we go out like today.
Though we go out to talk, we always end up eating a lot.   really, a lot.
We usually go to the Chinese restaurant near by and today we probably had at least 12 to 13 dishes all together for us, 5 girls.
We all eat a lot as girls.    Really.

Last time when we hang out, we had at least 15 dishes for 5 girls, and though we went out to talk about ourselves, we were eating more than talking.  
We may eat more than guys.   We have realized that we had no important conversation after fill up our stomach.
Though we always end up saying "ate too much... ", we are still happy as we all know that we exercise from tomorrow again.
I probably eat more than normal girls do, but so what?
I am just a bit greedier than other people on anything I can enjoy with, such as eating and exercising.
How happy I am to be able to eat and enjoy eating.
