Life with Metal…

久しぶりにモノづくりについて書きます。

依頼事はなぜか重なる事が多いのですが、現在同時期に依頼されていたものがいくつかありました。製作が終わったもの、途中のモノ、とりあえず構想はあるけど作業を開始していないもの。いろいろありますが、制作終了したものでもまだ納品が終わってないのでお見せできなかったり。

一つはもう少ししたらお見せできると思います。

現在制作しているものも依頼品ですが、彫刻のようなものを久しぶりにブロンズで作っています。

お題はいただいたのですが、それ以外は私のテイスト任せという事で、久しぶりに彫刻っぽい作品を作れてとても楽しいです。

以前からお願いしているアルティキャスト清水さんの所で鋳造していただき、先日ブロンズに変身した子たちに会いました。

やっぱり金属になると雰囲気がさらに良くなります。　自画自賛ですが、愛しくてたまりません。

早く完成させたいです。

依頼品なので、作ってすぐに私の手元を離れてしまいますが、それまでしっかりと愛情かけて作りたいと思います。

こちらも納品が済んで依頼者の許可を頂きましたらお披露目したいと思います。

Life with Metal

I am going to write about my recent works in order to show my respect to my own blog.. ha ha

Currently, I am working on a few different things and all of them are tailor made ones.  

One is a sign.  The making process is finished, but the order is not completed yet as I haven’t delivered it to a client. 

As soon as the order is completed (which is next week), I can show the work on my blog. 

Another one is also an order, and I am making a (kind of )bronze sculpture.  

It has been a long since I worked in bronze and also a figurative work, so I am very much excited about this project.

Though it has a function, I am free to make anything as long as it meets the requested function, so I decided to make something figurative. 

It’s already in bronze, casted at the bronze foundy, “Altecast, Bronze Casting Foundry”, where I usually work with.   As I see it in bronze, I just can wait to finish up and see it completed.  It makes me realize how much I love my work.. ha ha.

Now I am working on the piece to finish up.  I dont know how to say how much I enjoy it..

Since this is an order, I can enjoy it for limited time only. 

Until it leaves me, I am going to enjoy and treat it affectionately. 

I hope to put up some photos, but I should wait until September or late August at the eaerliest. 

尾瀬 Hiking to Oze

話が前後してますが、、

6月の最後の週末に尾瀬に行ってきました。

その日は梅雨明け前にも関わらず、とっても良い天気で、ハイキング日和。

尾瀬は初めてだったのですが、すごくすごくきれいな所でびっくり。

湿地は、山とも海とも違う、初めて見る景色でした。

　

そこらじゅうにある野草もまだ若い黄緑色をしていて、ところどころにある水たまりはびっくりすくらいの透明で。雲は白く空はどこまでも高く青い。

朝一新宿発の1日尾瀬ツアー。

尾瀬での滞在時間は約5時間で、それほど遠くまではいけないけど、景色を楽しんで澄んだ空気を味わえるには十分な時間でした。

次回は1泊してもっと遠くまでハイキングに行きたい。

Went hiking to Oze, one of the national parks in Japan, a few weeks ago for the first time.

It is famous for its beautiful scenery and variety of animals and plants as it is a protected area.

We went there by bus leaving Tokyo early in the morning, stayed in Oze area about 5 hours.

Though it was a short time for long hike, it was enough to enjoy the nature.

Oze is a wetland.

You get to see beautiful and variety of plants here and there.

It was a first time to go to the wetland, and it was different from any other scenery I’ve been/seen before.

We were all amazed by beauty of the greens, flowers, mountains, water ponds, and blue sky.

Oze is also a good place to stay overnight and take long hike, so I want to go back there and do a long hike next time.

夏

夏ですね。
あっという間に気がついたら夏真っ盛りの日々が続いてます。
3連休は千葉の実家で過ごしたのですが、毎年ののとながら、庭がジャングル化してました。
今回は伸びた藤の蔦を切った位で、後はそのまま放置してしまいました。暑いし。
来月行ったらちゃんとやります。

海の日の今日は特になにもせず母と買い物に出かけた位で季節関係なしの日常を過ごしたのしですが、夏、海、先週末に一足先に梅雨明けすぐに行って来ました！

逗子の友達の家でBBQだったのですが、海まで5分。ふらりと海へ。
水着は無かったので、足だけダボダボ入って、気持ち良かったー
夏は海ですね。本当に気持ち良かった。

夏は海に行かないと行けないなと、改めて思いました。
まだ始まったばかり。今年は何度も行こう。

Okinawa

だいぶ今更なのは承知ですが、3月に沖縄・宮古島に行ってきました。

以前沖縄本島は行ったことあったけれど、今回は宮古島メインで2泊、本島に1泊してきました。

一言でいうと。。。本当に良かった。
海の色も本島と比べ物にならないほどきれいで、緑や青、いろんな色がまじりあってました。
島はいい。また沖縄行くなら島に行きたい。

今回、母親と叔母の二人といったのですが、母が病気になってから初の旅行で各移動が少し心配だったけれど、飛行場やバス、全て順調に行きました。　
宮古島に住む親せきに会いがてらの旅行だったので、海とかは入ったりする機会はなかったけれど、温かくて明るい自然の中で過ごすだけで本当にのんびりと開放的な気持ちになれました。

宮古島は沖縄の島の中では石垣島と並んで大きい方ですが、それでも島の端から端まで、車で30分くらいの大きさ。
繁華街、というか島の中心部にはお店や大小の会社、銀行などがもちろんあるけど、少し外れるととたんに何もなくなる。
なにより驚いたのは信号が少ない事。　

中心部を離れるとほとんど信号が無く、あっても点滅している「停止」「注意」のサイン代わりの信号機ばかり。
そしてまだオフシーズンという事もあり、すれ違う車もほとんど皆無。　
ところどころに有名な「宮古島まもる君」のご兄弟が。
中心部を離れると、サトウキビ畑の一本道をどこまでも走り、その先にはきれいな海が広がっている。
ほんとこのままの表現の景色ばかり。
その代り夜は真っ暗で少し運転が怖かったけど、それでも星が見えたり、遠くにぽつんと光が見えたりする景色は素敵だった。
普段それほど運転が好きではないけど、開放的な宮古島でのドライブは本当に楽しかった。

ドライブをしながら観光スポットを巡ったけれど、島そのものがとても居心地が良くただただ散歩しているだけで楽しかった。　
とてものんびりな3日間を過ごしました。
最後の一日は沖縄本島に一泊して、まだ未経験の叔母のためにちゅらうみ水族館に行ってきました。
その道すがら、景色の良い所や観光スポットを巡ったり。　飛行機の時間もあったので、だいぶあわただしく駆け足での観光となりました。

個人的にはやはり宮古島が良かったなあ。何もなくて。
それでも、東京を離れてきれいな景色に囲まれるのは本当に気持ちが良かった。

It’s a super belated report, but I went to Okinawa in March.

It was a second time to visit there, and this time, I mainly visited Miyakojima, one of the islands to Okinawa.

I went there with my Mom and Aunt, so did not get a chance to enjoy the beach (it was not open for swimming yet.), but still it was great to be surrounded by beautiful nature and clean air.

It was hot enough to walk around by T shirt and sandals, and just by that, it makes me feel soooo relaxed.

Miyakojima is a relatively big island among Okinawa islands, but it was small in scale that I could drive from one-end to the other end of the island taking about 30min.

It was really nice to drive the coastal line and in the middle of sugarcane fields looking at beautiful ocean and blue sky.

We stayed at one of the nicest hotels there, and we had really good ocean view from our room.

The weather was perfect. It was hot but not humid.

We did nothing but just hang out, thought we visited some flower fields and parks, but that’s pretty much it.

Next time I want to go to the sea and enjoy some activities, like snorkeling.

On our last day, we stayed in Okinawa, the main land and visited some tourist spots like Churaumi Aquarium and others. It was nice but I think I enjoyed Miyakojima better as I felt that I was close to the nature more.

If I ever go back again to Okinawa, I would choose islands again J
